Meet the Team ...
Deena El-Mahdy is an Associate Professor in the Architectural Engineering Department at the British University in Egypt. She is a co-founder of Cairo Heritage School. She holds BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees from Cairo University, in addition to a postgraduate degree from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) related to 3D printing with Earth in 2021/2022. Her research interests are digital fabrication processes, 3D printing, robotics, parametric design, computational design, and additive manufacturing techniques in both education and construction. Deena was awarded the (YIRG) as a principal investigator (PI) in 2021. She was awarded many grants as a principal investigator of “Young Investigator Research Grant” and lately was awarded several awards as; the BIM Africa award under the category of "Best Woman in African Construction" in 2023, and shortlisted in the Tamayouz award in the category of "rising star, women in Architecture and Construction" in 2018 and 2019 .
