O House, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Located in Oceana Residences on Palm Jumeirah, O House reinterprets a traditional apartment into a warm, organic modern eclectic home shaped by light, materiality, and spatial flow.

The design transforms the core of the home through a key spatial intervention: opening the previously closed kitchen to the living area. This move introduces natural daylight deep into the plan and establishes a continuous, breathable layout. A custom curved kitchen island acts both as a functional anchor and a soft spatial divider, while reclaimed wall surfaces are reimagined with integrated niches for added depth and utility.

Material choices are guided by both climate and atmosphere, engineered wood flooring replaces marble for humidity resilience, while dark timber, travertine, terracotta, mustard tones, and natural stone create a layered, tactile palette rooted in warmth and contrast. Sculptural furniture pieces, curved forms, and custom millwork reinforce the organic language throughout the home.
Every detail -from frameless transitions and recessed lighting systems to intimate reading corners and spatial thresholds- contributes to a calm yet expressive living environment. The result is a climate-conscious, highly contextual interior where architecture, material, and lifestyle seamlessly converge.

🏆 Our project has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the Fatih Stadium Area Urban Design Ideas Competition organized by Keçiören Municipality, Ankara.

Keçiören Urban Hub proposes the transformation of the existing stadium site into a multi-layered public center that preserves its strong place in urban memory while introducing a new, permeable and flexible urban life. The project reinterprets the existing field and surrounding tribunes as a central urban void-redefined as an accessible courtyard, event ground, and elevated observation route connecting different parts of the site.

A key aspect of the proposal is the creation of a semi-permeable urban interface along Kızlarpınarı Street, where daily urban flows are filtered into the site through a vibrant buffer zone accommodating social spaces, small-scale commerce, and public amenities. The program brings together green areas, an urban meadow, a hardscape event plaza, sports and activity spaces, and workshop zones that support production and community engagement.

The landscape strategy draws from Ankara’s steppe ecology, proposing a low-maintenance, seasonal, and performative planting system that evolves over time. This is complemented by a kinetic canopy that enhances climatic comfort and defines a flexible, shaded public ground.

Supported by a hybrid architectural language and a socially inclusive economic model, the project envisions the area not only as a spatial transformation, but as a sustainable urban ecosystem that fosters social interaction, local production, and collective urban life.

T House

T House explores how the expressive language of abstract metal art can be translated into a livable architectural form.

Conceived as a contemporary villa, the project is shaped by ideas of cutting, bending, and layering. What appears as a solid monolithic volume at first gradually reveals a more dynamic composition through fractured surfaces, shifting masses, and deep openings. This creates a subtle tension: balanced, yet never static.

The material palette is intentionally restrained. Monochrome earth tones and textured finishes allow light to take the lead, constantly redefining the perception of the building throughout the day.

Inside, the same sculptural approach continues in a quieter way. A unified surface language -across walls, floors, and ceilings- creates spatial clarity, while materials like micro-concrete, natural plaster, and matte metal bring a soft, tactile depth.

Rather than a rigid layout, the house unfolds through transitions. Openings, voids, and double-height spaces establish a gentle continuity between interior and exterior, making movement through the house feel intuitive and layered.

At its core, T House is about balance, between solidity and lightness, expression and comfort. It reinterprets the rigidity of metal into a warm, human-centered living environment.

Past, Present, Possible

Reimagining Emirati Vernacular Architecture in a Sustainable Contemporary Home

How can architecture carry the intelligence of the past into the demands of the future? This concept residential project, designed for Dubai, explores a culturally grounded yet forward-looking approach to living in arid climates. Rooted in Emirati vernacular principles, the design reinterprets spatial traditions such as the hosh (courtyard), liwan, and barjeel (wind tower) through contemporary materials and technologies. A sustainable wind tower positioned at the entrance becomes both a symbolic and performative element, welcoming visitors while naturally ventilating the home and generating renewable energy.

At its core, the project is about balance:
- Privacy and openness, through layered spatial zoning
- Heritage and innovation, via adaptive reinterpretation of traditional elements
- Comfort and sustainability, using passive cooling, green roofs, and renewable energy systems

The courtyard becomes the social and climatic heart of the home, while the reimagined wind tower integrates micro-turbines to both ventilate and generate energy. Mashrabiya-inspired façades enhance daylight and airflow while maintaining privacy and supporting biodiversity.

Sustainability is embedded at every scale -from underground air pre-cooling systems to rooftop solar integration- reducing environmental impact while enhancing everyday living quality. Rather than replicating the past, this project asks: What is possible when tradition becomes a design tool for the future?

Villa S, Billionaire’s Row, Palm Jumeirah

A signature renovation set along the iconic Palm Jumeirah coastline, this project redefines coastal luxury through a balance of material purity, spatial clarity, and warmth.

A complete transformation of a beachfront villa on Billionaire’s Row, where strong material choices and spatial clarity drive the design. The project is anchored by travertine -defining both the architectural language and atmosphere- balanced with warmer layers, textures, and curated pieces to avoid sterility.

From the double-height entrance to the fully glazed living and dining area, the design focuses on proportion, light, and continuity with the sea. Large openings are softened with textile systems, while art and objects are used deliberately to scale and ground the space. A precise intervention rather than an expressive one, aimed at creating a calm, cohesive, and livable environment.

S House | Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

Located in the Shoreline Apartments of Palm Jumeirah, S House reimagines a three-bedroom residence through a refined balance of modern minimalism and subtle neoclassical references.

A key intervention was transforming the closed kitchen into an open-plan layout, allowing natural light to extend into the living space. A custom green marble island acts as both a functional element and a sculptural focal point, anchoring the social area.

The interior palette is defined by soft neutrals, natural wood textures, and herringbone parquet flooring. Decorative wall mouldings and gentle arched transitions introduce a restrained classical character while maintaining a contemporary atmosphere.

Built-in architectural elements and consistent material choices continue throughout the private spaces and bathrooms, where green marble reappears to reinforce visual continuity.

S House reflects a timeless dialogue between contemporary living and classical elegance.

Villa 22, Al Shati Beach, Abu Dhabi

Located in prestigious Al Shati Beach, Villa 22 is conceived as a contemporary waterfront compound that integrates architecture, interiors, and landscape. The project transforms an unused 400 sqm structure within a 1,200 sqm plot into a layered residential environment shaped by privacy, climate responsiveness, and cultural sensitivity.

The masterplan organizes the site into the Main House, Service Pavilion, sea-facing Majlis, and an independent Guesthouse. Shaded walkways, drought-tolerant planting, and a green roof strategy support thermal comfort, while timber decks extend the living experience toward the private beach.

A refined balance of modern expression and local values defines Villa 22 as a calm coastal retreat in Abu Dhabi.

Y House | Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

A study in contrast and clarity. Y House reimagines contemporary urban living through a refined monochromatic language - where white surfaces create calm and black elements introduce rhythm and depth.

By transforming a previously enclosed kitchen into a fully open, light-filled space, the project enhances spatial flow and everyday functionality. A sculptural black marble island anchors the interior, while integrated architectural elements and frameless details reinforce a quiet, minimalist expression.

Selective warmth in the private areas softens the composition, achieving a careful balance between precision and comfort.

Form, Faith, and Memory; A Curated Architectural Journey

Together with our community, THX Collective visited Zayed National Museum by Foster + Partners and the Abrahamic Family House designed by Adjaye Associates in Abu Dhabi, two powerful architectural works that explore identity, belief, and coexistence.

Our journey began at Zayed National Museum, where the building’s form is inspired by the wings of the falcon, the national symbol of the UAE. Rising from the landscape, the sculptural steel structures respond to climate and movement, creating a strong relationship between architecture, nature, and national memory. Beyond its striking architectural language, the museum offered a deeply educational and cultural experience, revealing layers of history, heritage, and collective identity.

We then moved on to the Abrahamic Family House, where three equal cubic volumes stand side by side, representing a mosque, a church, and a synagogue. From the outside, their shared scale and form express equality and fraternity; inside, each space reveals its own rituals, symbols, and spiritual atmosphere through carefully considered light, proportion, and materiality. It was a rare opportunity to experience how architecture can both honor difference and create unity.

As a collective, we love exploring, learning, and drawing inspiration together. We hope we experience many more shared journeys ahead. ✨

Traum Kaffee Discovery Garden Pavilion, Dubai

The first physical expression of the Traum Kaffee brand, this flagship café was conceived as a minimalist coffee lab designed for a city in constant motion. Located at the intersection of a metro station and a high-traffic mall, the space introduces a moment of calm through clarity, restraint, and material honesty.

Soft whites, light wood, and exposed concrete form a warm yet focused interior, while the signature linear orange bar anchors the space as both a functional counter and a strong brand identifier. Designed to support pause, work, and learning, the café accommodates everything from quick stops to workshops and longer work sessions.

More than a coffee shop, this project establishes the architectural and spatial DNA that will guide all future Traum Kaffee locations, a balance of minimalism, functionality, and experiential branding in an urban context.
