The Interference Nightmare: Reem Island Crossing (2015) Author: Eng. Ahmed Shawky

Looking back at one of the most challenging crossings of my life. The year was 2015, on Reem Island.

We weren't just dealing with a standard crossing; we were drilling directly through an active bridge construction site. As you’ll see in the photos, the environment was hostile for any guidance system. We were surrounded by massive steel cages, dense rebar walls, and heavy scaffolding—creating a magnetic interference storm.

To navigate this "blind" zone safely, we had to rely on the ParaTrack 2 system. It was the only way to filter out the magnetic noise and ensure we didn't hit the very bridge pillars that were being built around us.
