Geotechnical Monitoring is a key element for the successful implementation of projects. It is essential in foreseeing any possible problems and taking the necessary measures at the right time with less cost!

In December 2025, A.L.T.E.A & Geostudio successfully installed 18 GeoWAN Wireless Tiltmeters at Durres Yachts Marina. These instruments will monitor for the next year the sheetpiling system. This highly innovative equipment, produced by Senceive, were delivered in collaboration with SISGEO, our longstanding partners for monitoring equipment, are installed for the 1st time in Albania. The equipment was easy to install, offers 24/7 information to our client and has automatic alerts in case of movement. It is a reliable, cost efficient and user friendly approach to geotechnical monitoring.

Today during a training visit from our historic colleagues and collaborators from Sisgeo on dam monitoring and instruments for geotechnical monitoring.

Sisgeo and ALTEA decided to renew their collaboration agreement which entails ALTEA as the exclusive distributor of Sisgeo products in Albania.

12th European Club Symposium and 75th anniversary Swiss Commitee on Dams
took place in Interlaken, from 5-8 September 2023.
This was a great opportunity to participate in the festivities around the 75th anniversary of the Swiss Committee on Dams, founded in 1948.
Today, new and unexpected challenges arise for Europe’s large array of existing dams, and fresh perspectives on the development of new projects for supporting Europe’s energy transition have emerged.
These new challenges are at the core of the themes proposed for development during the Symposium.
A series of workshops in various domains of dam design and safety were held prior to the Symposium and a field visit to the construction site of the new Spitallamm double curvature arch dam were foreseen this year in Interlaken.

Altea & Geostudio 2000, participated with an article named “Geological hazard evaluation for
dams constructed at Drin valley” with authors Skender Allkja, and Ardita Malaj.
The main focus of the article was to deal with the geological, geodynamic, and geotechnical characterization of the construction site for the already existing dams and the newest built over the Drin cascade.
After a careful evaluation of the risks and since all the large dams built over the cascade have a major role on the Albanian economy, the article concludes that the dam operator must develop a modern operational program, insuring dam’s safety, continuous monitoring systems, risk control and assessment and asset evaluation.
