Seventy years of building homes across South Australia has taught us one thing above all else: a house is only ever as good as the community surrounding it, and communities only thrive when the people and organisations holding them together are genuinely supported.
The Hickinbotham Family Community Fund represents a $500,000 commitment delivered over five years to recognise the individuals and grassroots organisations making a real and lasting difference across South Australian communities. The fund operates across two categories: the North Star, which celebrates outstanding individuals whose contribution to community life often goes unrecognised, and the Community Grant, which provides direct financial support to local clubs and organisations doing the quiet, consistent work that keeps communities functioning. Our first recipients say everything about what this fund stands for. The Roseworthy Railway Club has received $6,000 to help manage rising insurance costs, and the Roseworthy Country Fire Service has received $5,000 to support brigade operations and their beloved Good Friday Community Pancake Breakfast.
