With the business continually growing and our busy season approaching we are seeking a Full Time Spreader operator!

Caithness Spreading & Fertilisers P/L is a small, family owned and operated, local business that primarily supply's and contract spread fertiliser. We are based 15km south of Bairnsdale, and service all areas of East Gippsland.

Key Responsibilities:
-Daily operation of late model JCB fertiliser spreader & loaders. In a safe and efficient manner.
-Complete daily checks
-Maintaining company machinery
-Communicate clearly with clients, understanding direction & reading maps.

Skills that would be beneficial/ advantageous:
- Mechanically minded
- Strong work ethic
- Have a hands on approach to problem solving
-Background in farm work & agriculture

The successful applicant needs to hold a current HR licence, HC would be advantageous. He/she will be enthusiastic, a good communicator and have the ability to work in a team environment.

Training will be provided in the latest spreading technology and equipment.

Tuesday the 20th of August Elders Bairnsdale will be hosting a Spring Sowing Information Session.
Hannah Messner and Dean Lombardozzi from S&W Seeds, and Lee Menhennett from Incitec Pivot will be guest speakers.
The session will cover:
- pros and cons of different spring sowing options
- how summer crops will fit into your farming system.
- fertiliser timing and requirements over the spring and summer months

Happy Easter! We hope everyone enjoys the time off, and stays safe with the busy traffic on our local roads.

Our fellas have had a busy couple of weeks spreading fertiliser, from Ensay up to the border, while the rest of East Gippsland has been soggy wet. We’ll all be enjoying a few days off and hope you do too!
