That tree on your nature strip isn't necessarily yours.
In most Melbourne councils, trees located on the nature strip are owned and managed by the local council.
That means:
✓ You generally can't prune it yourself
✓ You generally can't remove it yourself
✓ Council approval is usually required before any work takes place
The good news? If the tree is causing concerns, is damaged, or appears unsafe, your local council will often inspect it if reported.
