Ready to step into a role where your financial expertise directly shapes business growth? O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing Bendigo is looking for a proactive, detail-driven Accounts & Financial Officer to take ownership of our financial operations and help guide our future.
This isn’t just bookkeeping. You’ll be the guardian of our financial data, ensuring accuracy across systems, managing tax compliance, and delivering the insights that drive smarter decisions and sustainable growth.
What you’ll be doing:
👉Managing full-function accounts (AP/AR), including supplier invoices and customer billing in Simpro
👉Ensuring accurate job costing and financial data integrity
👉Preparing and lodging IAS (monthly) and BAS (quarterly) in line with ATO requirements
👉Reconciling systems and maintaining accuracy between Simpro and Xero
👉Owning and updating a detailed cash flow forecast daily
👉Supporting Directors with cash flow projections and long-term budget planning
What you’ll bring:
✅ 5+ years’ experience in a similar finance role
✅ Advanced Excel skills, including building and managing complex financial models
✅ Strong knowledge of Australian tax compliance (BAS & IAS)
✅ Experience in electrical, plumbing, or construction industries (highly regarded)
✅ A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate trends and identify opportunities
Bonus points for:
😍Experience with Simpro or similar trade-based systems
😍Proficiency in Xero and Google Workspace
