There's a reason we only build concrete pools. And it's not just material preference.

Every year, we get enquiries from people trying to decide between fibreglass and concrete. Here's our honest position:

Fibreglass pools are a good product for some situations, but we never build them.

Here's why:

1. We build for Queensland backyards specifically.
Brisbane and Northern Gold Coast have a higher proportion of clay-heavy, reactive soils. Concrete pools, properly engineered, don't have the same vulnerability to ground movement that fibreglass does.

2. Concrete lasts 50+ years. Fibreglass lasts 20–25.
A concrete pool built to the right specification will outlast the house. The fibreglass surface typically needs resurfacing at 15–20 years.

3. Every concrete pool is custom. Every fibreglass pool is a mould.
Fibreglass pools are manufactured in factory moulds — fixed sizes, fixed shapes. Our clients don't want fixed. They want a pool designed for their specific block and brief.

4. Structural integrity under load.
For body corporate and commercial applications, structural engineering requirements are non-negotiable. Concrete can be designed and certified to precise engineering specifications. That level of control isn't achievable with fibreglass.

Are we the right choice for every client? No. We're honest about that.

What happens before the water goes in.

Most people only ever see the finished pool. Here is what the first few weeks of the Kay Court build in Buccan actually looked like: the excavation cut to exact depths, the base prepared and levelled, every bar of the steel cage placed by hand, and pour day, when the shell is sprayed in a single day.

Each stage is checked before the next begins. That is how a concrete pool earns a fifty-year life.
