💧 12 WATER METERS. CUSTOM-BUILT MANIFOLD. GREAT TEAM EFFORT. 🔧

Another solid plumbing project completed by the RTL Trades team!

The existing manifold and pipework were heavily corroded and leaking, so a new custom manifold was built in-house by Morgan and Max before heading to site.

Henry and Michael then completed the installation, replacing all 12 water meters.

Great planning, preparation and teamwork from start to finish! 👏💪

🎉 OFFICIALLY QUALIFIED! 🔨🔧
A massive congratulations to Jakada and Max, who have both officially completed their apprenticeships! 👏

🏠 Jakada has completed her Roofing Apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified roofer.
🚿 Max has completed his Plumbing Apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified plumber.

Finishing an apprenticeship is a huge achievement. It takes years of hard work, early starts, plenty of learning, taking on feedback and building the skills needed to become a quality tradesperson.

We’re incredibly proud to have watched both Jakda and Max develop throughout their apprenticeships and reach this milestone as part of the RTL Trades team.
Congratulations guys!! 💪🎓

Please join us in welcoming Alan Carter to RTL Trades as our new General Manager.

Alan officially commences with RTL on Monday, 10 August and brings more than 40 years of leadership experience across the construction, property and project delivery sectors.
Throughout his career, Alan has led major planning, construction and capital works programs across Queensland, including senior leadership positions with Brisbane Catholic Education, the Archdiocese of Brisbane and, most recently, as Project Director with Unita.
Alan’s extensive experience in operational leadership, project delivery and team development, combined with his passion for people and culture, will play an important role as RTL continues to grow and strengthen its service offering across the Plumbing, Electrical, Building and Roofing divisions.
We are excited to have Alan join the RTL team and look forward to the leadership, knowledge and fresh perspective he will bring to the business.

Henry recently installed a new double check valve and  isolation valve for a fire service for a block of units, allowing the building’s water supply to be safely and efficiently isolated when maintenance or emergency works are required.

Underground leak? No worries. 💧🔨

What started as a flooded, mossy area at the base of the external stairs turned out to be a poly pipe punctured by a star picket hidden beneath the concrete.

A great effort by Curtis, one of our plumbers, and Max, our plumbing apprentice, who:
✔️ Located the underground leak
✔️ Cut and removed part of the concrete stairs for access
✔️ Repaired the damaged pipework
✔️ Reinstated the concrete
✔️ Installed a safety strip and left the site clean and secure

Another leak found, fixed, and sorted by the RTL Trades team. 👏

On Tuesday the 12th August, we say farewell to our General Manager, Mike Smythe, as he begins his next chapter.

Over the past six and a half years, Mike has made an incredibly positive contribution to RTL Trades.

His leadership, commitment and support have played an important role in the growth of our business and, just as importantly, the culture we have built along the way.

Mike has been a valued leader, colleague and friend to many across the business. We are genuinely grateful for the time, energy and care he has invested in RTL Trades and our people.

Mike leaves with our sincere thanks, respect and very best wishes. While we are sad to see him go, we are excited for what lies ahead for him and wish Mike and his family every success and happiness in the future.

Thank you for everything, Mike. You will always be an important part of the RTL Trades story.
