Got a great crop of flowers this winter from the Little Johns and when I look around I cannot see any others with flowers at all that’s because there’s a little insect or bug that eats the brand new shoots so first I hit them with some Baythroid last summer before Christmas and then around mid autumn but I ran out of baythroid and the supplier stopped supplying it so out came the eco-neem and I used a watering can times two of and then to get the amount of flowers I have been using a fruiting and flowering compound fertiliser slow release and just a couple of table spoons each every 2 to three months depending how much rain we get and wallah 💯👌🌴🪴😜😎

Once again I forgot to take before photos, mainly because it was raining off and on all day so I was keen to get stuck into it but the client was stoked which is a great motivator, the money pays the bills but the thankfulness is what makes you feel great and looking back at your work, there was a couple of blue tongs in there as well 👍👌🌳🌴🍀🍀🍀

Moyra’s dragon fruit is looking pretty tasty and yep it’s lovely and all these seeds will be awesome for my insides, she’s a little legend 👍🏻✌️🍀🍀🍀

I’ll have to find out the species of this tree, they’re all around Brisbane, they do have invasive roots so you don’t want them to be too close to structures but they always look quite healthy, it took about an hour to trim the lower branches off and clear out some dead wood from the main trunk and surroundings and I think she’s come up looking pretty good, I did that probably around 9 months ago and probably won’t need trimming for another 6 months or so, , so it’s a very low maintenance tree although it does shed quite a lot of foliage in the dryer months around winter , this is quite a large one, I’ll post the name of it once I find out🌳

One of our lovely clients gave us these dragon fruits today, thankyou Moyra I’ve never tried dragon fruit before, so this will be a new experience, Moyra grows them herself, she’s got quite a few different fruits growing on her property in Morningside and she’s always keen to give you some fruits or a cutting from one of her many different types of fruiting or ornamental trees and plants, Moyra is almost 90 and is still an avid gardener and a lovely lady 🙏✌️🍀🍀🍀
