If you've got a dog, you know the spots. The worn track along the fence, the dug-up corner, the patch of mud that finds its way inside on four paws.

Synthetic turf puts an end to it. It's durable, it rinses clean, and there are no lawn chemicals for sensitive dogs to react to. Leftover offcuts even make a handy puppy training zone.

Here's a number worth sitting with. A natural lawn drinks around 40 litres of water per square metre every year just to stay alive, and in a Brisbane summer it still browns off between waterings.

Artificial grass needs none of that. No irrigation schedule, no fertiliser, no Saturday morning behind the mower, and no mud through the house after a downpour. It looks the same in January as it does in July, which is the whole point.

Good quality turf lasts up to 20 years, drains straight through after rain, and only asks for the occasional rinse and brush.

That dead corner of the yard has a better use.

A patch of cracked concrete, a balcony nobody sits on, a strip down the side of the house that grows nothing but w**ds. Any of it can become a putting green with somewhere to sit and a reason for people to come over.

We handle the whole thing, from the design and landscaping through to the install, so you're dealing with one team rather than chasing three. Once it's down there's almost nothing to do. No mowing, no watering, and it stays green through a dry summer when everything else in the street has gone brown.

Pool chemicals and natural grass don't get along.

Chlorine splashed over the edge burns the lawn around a pool, and it works the other way too. Fertilisers and w**d killers you put on the grass wash into the water when it rains, which is the last thing you want in a pool the family swims in.

Artificial grass takes chemicals in its stride, and it doesn't need fertiliser or w**d killer to look good in the first place. That makes it a sensible choice for the area around a pool, where those two things are always going to be in contact.

Synthetic grass isn't only for backyards. We install it on sporting fields across South East Queensland, including soccer, football, hockey, AFL, rugby league and rugby union, and we have a product made for tennis courts as well.

Fields get used hard. Training two or three nights a week, games every weekend, and by mid season the goal mouths and centre corridors on a natural surface are usually worn through. Synthetic turf holds up to that traffic and stays playable in the wet, which means fewer cancelled fixtures and a lot less money going into repairs and reseeding.

A light spray drops the surface temperature of artificial grass almost instantly, which makes all the difference for bare feet and paws.

Afternoon shade from a tree, pergola or umbrella helps too, and good quality turf with the right infill handles heat far better than the cheap stuff.
