Perfect winters day to head out for a quick ferret but super tough going - only got the male rabbits out. The female rabbits anchored down and stayed to protect the warren. 4 ferrets, 80 minutes and couldn’t shift them at all. Almost started to dig 🪏 but wasn’t ideal to make more holes in the horses paddock.

Removed 6 foxes 🦊 near the chicken coop over 3 visits but couldn’t get any sighting of deer as they don’t seem to come up and graze the paddocks at all.

That called for a daytime trip looking for deer sign and placing a trail camera at the bottom of the property. Sure enough, it’s holding.

Our 9 year old GSD has reached grandpa status and doesn’t usually get to go to the farms as he is now more suited to laying on his bed by the fireplace, however this week he got to head out with the ferrets - he was very impressive at catching the first rabbit to dart! After that, he was bouncing around like a puppy all day 🐕

New trap set - looks like a big healthy dog fox is in the area 🦊 this set is right behind a lambing paddock so he will be high up on the target list.

Have been trying to trap this old dog fox for a few weeks now. He is a clever one!
