Have you ever thought about the conditions your electrician has to work in?
Working conditions for electricians vary, generally the work can be physically demanding such as climbing ladders, lifting tools and quite often heavy supplies, working in cramped spaces or on scaffolding, frequently bending over, squatting or kneeling, to make connections in awkward locations. On construction sites they may spend much of their days in outdoor or semi-outdoor loud and dirty work sites and on an industrial site the electrician may be exposed to the heat, dust, and noise of an industrial plant. Not to mention working in the rain and cold conditions when problems occur that need to be fixed immediately.
Now think about the kind of job you have and ask yourself ‘would I like to climb under a house to fix a problem or run a wire, or climb into a tiny roof in the middle of summer?’
I can safely say I wouldn’t and that’s why I am happy I have an electrician as a husband so he can, I just don’t do small spaces! I am happy to sit at my desk and do his books. :)
