Our Story

Owned and operated by Troy & Nikki Urquhart, SBR Electrical and Refrigeration has been servicing Charters Towers and surrounds since opening in 2004.

​Evolving from our humble beginnings, operating from a shipping container in a back yard, we now happily reside in a commercial residence at 23 Mexican Street. ​ During the last 15 years we have supported 7 local boys in completing their Electrical Trade, assisted office staff in completing their Business Administration Traineeship and continue to support the local school’s work experience programs.

Our aim is to provide a professional, efficient and cost effective service to our customers. There is no job too big or too small and we are willing and able to travel to remote area's.

Holding a dual trade as an Electrician and Refrigeration Mechanic as well as being fully solar accredited, Troy is always updating his skills to be sure to provide you with the most up to date products, services and safety requirements. Troy was born and bred in Charters Towers, he is committed to supporting the community that has supported him, we employ and train local people and we are proud of being locally owned and operated.
