Our team is currently installing a curved garden bed and laying natural bluestone stepping stones at a property in Hughesdale.

The curved lines and natural stone create a practical and attractive addition to the garden.

More updates to come as the project progresses.

The Ploterra team has been busy laying travertine crazy paving at this Melbourne property, creating a beautiful mosaic-like surface with plenty of natural character.

No two installations are the same, with every piece of travertine adding its own character through natural patterns, subtle textures and earthy tones.

Travertine is also a practical choice for high-traffic paths, combining natural beauty with the durability needed for everyday use.

Many of our clients request tree removals for various reasons. When this occurs, local councils often require replacement planting to offset the loss of environmental benefits, such as shade, air quality, and biodiversity, as well as to maintain the character and aesthetic of the urban landscape.

Replacement trees must be carefully selected to achieve a specific height and canopy spread in line with council requirements, and must be planted by a qualified arborist or horticulturalist (minimum AQF Level 5). At Ploterra, our team has either AQF Level 5 or AQF Level 8 qualifications, ensuring all replacement tree planting meets council standards.

In our recent Kew project, the Boroondara Council requested two 200L trees to be planted under a tree replacement permit. A big thank you to Establishe Tree Transplant for supplying two well-established trees that will meet these specifications.

If you are considering replacing a tree on your property, get in touch with us for replacement tree planting services. We can help select and plant trees that meet council requirements.

For this Brighton garden, we chose Agave ‘Blue Glow’ as a standout feature plant.

With its sculptural form, blue-green foliage and compact size, this low-maintenance succulent makes a strong statement without overwhelming the space. Its cool tones also create a beautiful contrast against the grey wall of the property, adding texture, structure and visual interest to the garden.

A simple planting choice with plenty of impact.

Winter has a way of showing off the garden in the most unexpected colours, and the Parrotia persica is a perfect example.

With its rich mix of golds, russets and deep reds, it brings warmth and texture to the landscape just when you need it most.

We love seeing how thoughtful planting choices like this can transform a space across every season.

We are out plant shopping today and came across Parthenocissus sikkimensis. It’s a great all-rounder plant that is tough, low-maintenance, and versatile enough to be used as either a climber or for ground cover.
