New wheels for a growing team.

With more modular homes on the go, our crew needed another set of wheels to keep up. Say hello to the newest member of the Echidna Built family.

Thanks to Colac Toyota and for the branded Hilux!

Cladding on. Windows in. Deck taking shape.

Five weeks from module delivery to a home you can recognise from the street. That's the modular difference, most of the hard work happens in the factory before the site ever sees it.

Follow along, plenty more to come as this one comes together.

Weeks 3 and 4 at the Paaratte build.

The external cladding is going on, and this is the stage where it stops looking like a project and starts looking like a home.

The team are on site working through the finishing touches, checking every board and every join so it's weather-tight and built to last.

Follow along as the Paaratte takes shape. Plenty more to come.

Hear it from the bloke who built it.

Alistair is our lead builder at Echidna Built, and there's not much about this Winchelsea home he doesn't know. He was there when the frames went up in the factory and he was there when all four modules landed on site in a single day.

In this video he walks through the build in his own words. No script, no gloss, just the person who did the work talking about how it comes together.

If you've been wondering whether modular can match a traditional build, this is worth your time.

That's all four.

The complete home is now at Winchelsea. Four modules, factory to site, all moved in a single day by the Nunn Bros Haulage team.

From here it becomes one house. The crew joins, seals and finishes, and the site work that takes a traditional build months is mostly already done.

Built under a roof. Moved when ready. Finished on site.

Spent the morning with one of our customers at Lucas, just outside Ballarat.

These purpose-built offices were designed around exactly what their business needed, and here's the part most people don't realise: if the business ever relocates, the buildings can go too.

That's the difference with modular. Your building is an asset you keep, not something you walk away from when the lease ends or the site changes.

Let's wind back the clock a few months.

This is the day one of our builds left the factory and headed for Murroon, settling onto the block it now calls home.

Months of work happen under our factory roof. Then one morning the whole house rolls out the gate, down the road, and onto site. By the end of the day it's sitting exactly where it'll stay for years.

That's the part of modular people don't see. So here it is

Week two on the Paaratte and the pace hasn't dropped. Sparkies have their rough-in well under way, the plumbers have their roof specs sorted, and the windows are in. Cladding is up next.

This is the difference a factory build makes. No rain days, no rescheduling trades, no sitting idle. Just steady progress under one roof.

Follow along, there's plenty more to come as the Paaratte takes shape.

Introducing the Paaratte, the newest home in the Echidna Built factory.

Right now it's a frame but over the coming weeks we'll show you every stage as it becomes a finished home, starting with this walk around and through the early build.

If you've ever wanted to see how a modular home actually gets built, this is the series to follow.
