Builders….we need to chat. Can we stop dropping Lomandra plants in EVERY garden that is ever built?! I don’t mind them but let’s look at other great native plants.

Let’s tame another backyard jungle! This slope is about 45 degrees. No way any machine is getting through that. And if you try to trim it with a whipper snipper, you’re probably going ass over.

So as sure footed as a mountain goat (well a goat anyway), this team will have this cleaned up in a few days.

“What do you mean you put a herd of goats into a suburban back yard??!!”

Yeah I’m that crazy….and it might just work. I’ve always been that guy, the one who will try something that the others say is stupid or can’t be done.

Now the girls are booked out for the next 6 weeks.

Does the yard come back like a golf course green, no. BUT, it does let the owner reclaim their yard, get a machine in there that won’t be absorbed by the vines and start again.

So the girls have been on this project for the past 5 days. What was once close to the Amazon rainforest is now starting...

Goats for vegetation management….yep. It works.

The old way of making coin from agriculture was to breed or sell for meat or dairy. These girls are working in a suburban backyard, clearing out HEAPS of vines and weeds.

The builder installed this lawn… then abandoned it like a bad DIY project.

When we first arrived at this property a few months ago, the lawn was in pretty rough shape. Unfortunately it’s something we see all the time with new builds. Builders roll out the cheapest turf they can find (usually Wintergreen Cooch), lay it down, and the homeowner is left staring at it wondering why their “brand new lawn” already looks like it’s had enough of life.

But lawns are a bit like people — give them the right care and a bit of attention, and they can bounce back.

With some consistent work and great cooperation from the homeowner, this one has made a great comeback. 🌱

Turns out it wasn’t dead… it just needed a bit of love (and a decent lawn guy).
