🪳🐜 WHY AM I STILL SEEING ANTS OR COCKROACHES AFTER A TREATMENT? 🐜🪳

This is one of the most common questions we get after a pest treatment — and in most cases, it’s completely normal!

✅ ANT TREATMENTS
Ant treatments are designed to work slowly so the ants can carry the product back to the nest and spread it throughout the colony. This process takes time, which is why you may still see ants for up to 3–4 weeks after treatment.
In some cases, you may even notice increased activity at first as the ants move through treated areas before the colony starts collapsing.
Bathrooms, kitchens, and wet areas are especially common places to still see activity because ants are attracted to moisture and often nest in wall cavities or around plumbing.

✅ COCKROACH TREATMENTS
It’s also very normal to continue seeing cockroaches after treatment — especially during the first 1–2 weeks.
Here’s why:
🪳 Cockroaches hidden deep in cracks, wall cavities, roof voids, and drains are forced out after treatment.
🪳 The treatment affects their nervous system, making them more visible and active before they die.
🪳 Some roaches may emerge from eggs after the initial treatment and come into contact with treated surfaces later.
Seeing cockroaches after a treatment often means the product is actually working.
💡 WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
✔ Avoid washing treated areas where possible
✔ Keep food sealed and benches clean
✔ Reduce moisture and water sources
✔ Be patient and monitor whether activity is reducing week by week

Most treatments continue working over several weeks, and the goal is a steady reduction in activity — not instant overnight elimination.

If activity remains heavy after the recommended treatment period, a follow-up inspection may be needed.

⭐️ We can’t win them all — and sometimes, you genuinely don’t want to.

At JNS Pest Services, we welcome all feedback — from the five‑star reviews that make our day to the one‑star reviews that push us to reflect and improve.

But context matters.

In this situation, several important details were left out.
The client had previously advised us that she no longer wished to continue with our services. More than a year later, she unexpectedly approached one of our team members requesting a free return visit. The interaction was confrontational, and given both the 13‑month gap and the manner of the approach, we made the decision to step back to protect our staff.

We also want to address the comment about a “pathetic excuse” for not attending a third visit. This request was made roughly 13 months after the initial treatment — well outside any reasonable timeframe for a follow‑up from any service‑based business.

We stand by our commitment to re‑attend when concerns are raised clearly, respectfully, and within a reasonable period.

We’re proud that the overwhelming majority of our clients share our values and have trusted us for years. That trust speaks far louder than any single review.
