Today marks a huge milestone for Andrew Lacey Constructions – 30 incredible years in business! 20/06/1994 was the day Andrew Lacey Constructions was registered.

They say to make it in business, you need to surround yourself with the best. Woody, Waz, (and more recently Nick), that is you. Your hard work and dedication over the years have been invaluable. Your attention to detail and pride in what you do makes you guys absolute craftsman. We've tackled a heap of jobs together, from commercial pubs and clubs, nursing homes, units to beautiful family homes. You have always done an amazing job.
Thank you to all the trades who have also worked alongside us. Some of you guys have been with me for decades. Not only are you great at what you do, I consider you all mates.
Not to forget a special thanks also to my supportive wife, Rach, and our kids who have always been ready to lend a hand with a tool belt on!

To my valued clients, you have made it all worthwhile. The friendships we've made over the years mean the world to me. Thank you for trusting me with your projects and allowing me to bring your dreams to life!

I never imagined when starting the business in my parents' dining room that it would grow into what it is today.

They say if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life, and I couldn't agree more. Here's to many more years of doing what I love!

I was recently trusted to complete a beautifully unique home in Arcadia. The home is brand new with all the period details of yesteryear including recycled ornate plaster ceilings with detailed plaster cornice and archways, period kitchen, mosaic bathroom tiling, some spectacular lighting, timber cladding including shingle lined gables and stained glass windows.
It has all the modern touches of underfloor heating, A/C, data, media just to name a few.
The owners have a great eye for detail which has shone through their finishing choices. This job was an absolute pleasure to work on!

We took advantage of recent Hills Shire council changes to secondary dwellings at Kenthurst. It enabled us to increase the existing 60m2 granny flat to 110m2 secondary dwelling. This gave the clients a three bedroom, two bathroom home for their growing family.
With nearly all general carpentry for the job including bearer / joists, flooring, hand cut frames and roof, cladding etc…. It was a fun job to build too.

Pictures of another country home in Glenorie we have been working on recently. I especially love the king post trusses we manufactured on site with the exposed rafters and v joint cladding to the main living area. The new works have certainly turned the original fifties cottage into something very special 😁👍

And that’s a wrap for another huge year. A massive thank you to everyone involved. We had some trying conditions with post pandemic supplies and the wet weather but everyone soldiered through like champions and got the job done.

Granny flats, or secondary dwellings, provide an affordable option for ageing parents, allow you to give teenagers their own space and privacy or can generate extra income for your family.

Take a look at this secondary dwelling we designed and built for two very satisfied downsizers.

The design brief included:

• A fully functional kitchen with gas appliances and ample storage; a walk in pantry desirable
• Open plan living with plenty of natural light
• A spacious bathroom that would allow future wheelchair access plus under floor heating
• Two generous sized bedrooms separated by the living space to enable the owners to host guests without being in each other’s pockets
• Built in wardrobes to both bedrooms, including internal joinery

Granny flats do not need to be boxy and bland. We were able to achieve all of the above into a 100sqm modern, spacious home by working with the client to fine-tune the design until it met their needs.

It was such a pleasure to build this magnificent, modern country home in Arcadia for a wonderful family. From council approval and demolition of their existing house through to extensive landscaping, my team worked meticulously to ensure the quality of this home was second to none!

When applying for approval on any property development it is essential that Council requirements, including BAL ratings, are met. This property being nestled in bushland posed several obstacles that we were fortunate to overcome following in-depth consultation with Council and the RFS.

Word must have got around about our new access ramps that we constructed throughout St Paul the Apostle Primary School at Winston Hills. Even our Premier “Glady” had to take them for a test run 😂
These ramps were constructed to form complete disable access to the entire school.
They were all safely built within a live school environment.
