Another happy customer in Pialba! šŸ‘Œ

Last week we completed the installation of a new stormwater sump pump system to help manage excess surface water during heavy rainfall events.

After calculating the catchment surface area and designing for rainfall intensities of up to 100mm per hour, we selected a Grundfos UniLift pump capable of moving an impressive 300 litres per minute. That’s more than enough capacity to handle even the heaviest Fraser Coast downpours and keep water moving where it should.

A big shout out to Corey from Miniworks Earthmoving who assisted with the excavation. Corey isn’t just an operator who digs trenches and leaves. He takes pride in his work, understands the importance of site presentation, and always makes sure the job is left neat and tidy for our customers. It’s great working alongside tradespeople who care about the finished result as much as we do.

Quality workmanship, careful planning and the right equipment make all the difference.

Blocked drains keep life interesting šŸ˜…

One helps clear stubborn blockages.
One helps us find out what's causing the problem in the first place.

Truth is... we use both šŸ‘

āš ļø A tiny mud wasp nest can destroy your gas regulator… and cost you hundreds.

If you’re changing over gas bottles and leaving the regulator disconnected for any period of time, make sure the ends of the regulator tails are sealed with tape.

Mud wasps and insects LOVE finding those small openings, and it doesn’t take them long to move in and build a nest — sneaky little things! šŸ

Once the regulator is reconnected and the gas is turned back on, those hardened mud nests can be pushed straight into the regulator, completely destroying it and requiring replacement.

A simple bit of tape now can save a large repair bill later šŸ‘

Most people don’t think about their water main… until something goes wrong.

Community tip: take a few minutes this week to locate your water mains shut-off and make sure it actually works.

Your water main is the valve that controls all the water coming into your home. If a pipe bursts or a fitting fails, being able to turn it off quickly can be the difference between a minor issue and major damage.

Here’s what to check:

Do you know where your water meter/main is located? (front yard, near the boundary in most homes)

Can you clearly access it, or is it buried under dirt, grass, or debris?

Does the lever or tap turn easily, or is it stiff and seized?

If it’s hard to turn, don’t leave it for ā€œlater.ā€ In an emergency, every second counts—and the last thing you want is a valve that won’t budge.

A quick check now can save a lot of stress (and water) later.

Brand new home… but not exactly a ā€œclean startā€

We got called out by a local builder after tenants moved into a freshly built home and found themselves dealing with blocked pipes from day one — not ideal.

Out came the jetter and CCTV camera, and before long we spotted the culprit… a tiler’s trowel sitting right where it definitely shouldn’t be šŸ‘€

After a bit of problem-solving (and some creative thinking), we managed to push it through to the main sewer and fish it out using a makeshift magnet on the end of a chain. Not your standard plumbing tool… but it got the job done

Safe to say the pipes are now flowing exactly how they should be — and the trowel has officially been retired from plumbing duties.

Moral of the story: just because it’s a new build doesn’t mean everything’s perfect behind the scenes.

If something’s not right, we’ll find it — no matter how unusual it is.
