A fair bit of time and effort went into bringing this steel balustrade back to life.
The steel was thoroughly sanded back, cleaned and washed down before treating the rust that had built up over the years from being so close to the ocean.
Once prepped, it was undercoated with a surface-tolerant epoxy (Dulux STE) and finished with 2 coats of polyurethane (Dulux Weathermax HBR) in colourbond Woodland Grey, to give it the best possible protection against the salt air, harsh sun and Tassie’s UV.
An absolute bulletproof protective coating system for structural steel exposed to coastal conditions, and one that will definitely keep this looking good and protected for years to come.
