Things have been incredibly hectic over here, but with Andrew, Luke & now Wendy basically living in the trucks, we have made really good progress.
They have been busy moving silage, hay, and on a couple of occasions Andrew has even been buzzing around the country side with a load of bees on board.

Wow, what a week! With paddocks now dry enough to get onto, and crops ready to come down, it was definitely all systems go. What looked like the impossible at the beginning of the week, but with the massive effort of our amazing team, who went above and beyond to make it all happen, there was no bale left unwrapped. Massive thanks to our awesome team, as well as all the businesses there behind us to keep us moving when we have the unexpected breakdowns.

Johness Hay & Ag is looking for reliable and experienced operators to join our team for the upcoming hay and silage season.

📍 Based at Katunga, Victoria
📅 Starting mid–late September 2026

Positions Available

🚛 Truck Driver

* HC licence essential
* Experience carting hay or agricultural freight preferred
* Safe, reliable and professional attitude

🚜 Tractor Driver

* Experience operating modern tractors and hay equipment preferred
* GPS/Autosteer experience an advantage
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

First silage job for spring 2026, and it went off without a bang.
There’s always the possibility that something’s going to go wrong on the first job for the season, but this year everything ran like dream work, and the grins couldn’t be bigger, even the weather did it’s thing, and the grass was at perfect moisture levels.
Couldn’t do what we do without the team behind us. So a huge thank you to every single person that gets behind us and supports us 100%, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you.

All is a little quiet on the farm at the moment. And it’s nice to slow down for a while and enjoy watching the crops grow. Jared is quietly working away on machinery maintenance. Aiden has been busy spreading fert, and killing weeds. Alex has been out and about doing the odd job with the tractor. Mackenzie has been taking a much needed break. John and Andrew have been out and about in both trucks moving hay. And Dave has been busy keeping those fences looking good 👌 all while Arlo and Donny have been chilling in the sun ☀️
