This evap wasn’t blowing cold because it wasn’t filling with water. Found the culprit was the solenoid valve. Swapped it out and got everything running like it should again.

This aircon came in stinking, so today was a proper deep clean.
Took off the cover, fit the bag, sanitise and deodorise everything with Froststrike, rinse, rebuild, then hose off the condenser and test it out.

In all honesty, a clean like this isn’t always needed.
Most times a solid aircon sanitising spray is enough to deal with the bad smells and bacteria.

That is why I use and recommend Froststrike.

Evap coolers are everywhere in Melbourne and they get pretty filthy if no one touches them. Changed the pads on this one and cleaned the whole thing out. A bit of Froststrike at the end keeps the smell down and helps kill off the bacteria that builds up. Good timing before the hot days start rolling in.

Some of the older evaporative coolers I come across are still running on the same stagnant water from the last time they were used. The modern units will dump their water after each cycle but the older ones rely on a small bleed from the pump to refresh the water. The problem is many of them are not even doing that anymore which means the pads stay wet with old dirty water and the whole system starts to smell and grow bacteria. These units really need a proper service at least once a year to clear out the sludge clean the pads and get them running fresh again. In this video I opened up an older evap and gave it a full clean and a spray with Froststrike to sanitise everything and get rid of that old water smell. Simple maintenance like this keeps them running better and keeps the air in your home clean.

Brushing filters only gets the surface. A quick wash with Froststrike lifts everything out and stops that dusty smell. Clean filters mean better airflow and a happier unit.

Just finished up a quick service on this LG split system and supplied a genuine handheld remote to get it back in action.

A nice clean, fresh filters, and a bit of Froststrike on the coils and condenser always makes the unit run like new again.

Sometimes it’s the simplest stuff that catches people out. This one just needed the isolator flicked back on. Always pays to check the basics first.

This was an air-conditioning thermostat that was reported not working. In this case, It was working. It's just that the buttons were really hard to press so in this video I touch on a few things to be aware of when changing over wall thermostats.

Heating wasn’t working properly. Filters were a thousand percent blocked. Like absolutely chockers.

I always check the filters first.
Quick clean, and it fired up sweet.
