When you can’t match the old… work with it.

Closing in this verandah has completely transformed the inside—more light, more space, and a dining area that actually works for the way the home is used.

But just as important is how it looks from the outside.

Matching old brick is often near impossible (and when it’s wrong… it really stands out). So instead, we’ve used mini corrugated in pale eucalypt—tying in with the roof, gutters and downpipes, and complementing the original cream brick beautifully.

Sometimes the best result doesn’t come from trying to copy what was there…
It comes from choosing materials that respect it.

And this is exactly that 👌

Remember those floorboards quietly sitting there “doing nothing”…? 👀

Turns out they were doing exactly what they needed to do.

Acclimatising to their new home so that when they’re laid, they perform properly—no movement, no gaps, no issues down the track.

And now… the good part 😍

Watching beautiful timber floors go down is one of those moments where a house really starts to feel like a home. The warmth, the texture, the natural variation—nothing beats it.

It might seem like a slow process at the start, but every step matters if you want a finish that lasts.

Trust the process… it’s always worth it.

“They don’t make them like they used to…”

And in this case… they really don’t.

When you’re working on a heritage home, it’s not just about replacing windows—it’s about respecting what was there while bringing it up to modern standards.

These double hung windows?
You can’t just go and buy them off the shelf in double glazing.

So… we built them from scratch.

✔️ Imperial measurements to match the original openings
✔️ Double glazed for energy efficiency
✔️ Hand-poured lead weights to balance the extra weight of the glass
✔️ Designed to look like they’ve been there since day one

It’s the kind of detail you might not notice straight away… but it’s exactly what makes a renovation feel right.

Old-world charm. Modern performance. Done properly.

Those perfectly straight grout lines? Not luck.

They don’t just “happen”… and they definitely don’t happen by accident.

Laser lines, careful set out, and years of experience all come together to make sure everything lines up exactly as it should.

Because it’s the little things—like crooked lines or uneven spacing—that will catch your eye every single day if they’re not done right.

And once you see it… you can’t unsee it 😅

We take the time to get it right the first time, so all you notice is how good your bathroom looks.

It’s not just about putting new windows in… it’s about making them look like they’ve always been there.

Upgrading to double glazed, aluminium windows is one of those changes that can completely transform how a home feels—better insulation, lower energy bills, and far less maintenance.

But the real magic is in the details.

Reinstating the original brickwork so everything blends seamlessly back together is what stops a renovation from looking like a “bolt-on” and instead makes it feel like part of the home’s story.

Anyone can install a window.
Not everyone takes the time to make it look like it was always meant to be there.

That’s the difference 👌
