Creating realistic depictions of the Southern landscape became a passion during his years fishing and hunting in the region. He knows the land well enough to get the most accurate illustration for you. Also to gather material for his paintings Lindsay has hired helicopters to fly into some of the more in accessible parts of Fiordland, and it is his love of this area that he portrays on to canvas u
sing light and mood which this area is renowned for. Lindsay has been involved in a number of exhibitions at some of the countries top galleries and his painting have been commissioned for corporate presentation and are hanging in many private collections in many countries around the world. In preparation of his art, Lindsay uses up to 6 layers of primer to coat his canvas so he can get the best finish. He is happy to take Commissions from any client, for a variety of sizes. Lindsay Muirhead has won many awards, including 1st place in the Seascape section of the Pastel Artists of New Zealand (PANZ) and the People’s Choice Award in art societies annual shows, making him one of the regions’ most professional artists.
