A garden visit we weren’t expecting has prompted this post. Unfortunately a neighbor had a fire start in their yard, which escalated very quickly. I want to respect their privacy, but use this post to highlight how quickly embers ignited mulch, garden furniture, and lush green hedges. On days like today , get out early & soak the garden mulch, your compost bins, etc. These quick responding firefighting heroes definitely saved properties, and further rapid spread. Working with faulty fire equipment and non working pumps on their fire trucks, risking their lives. I will be forever grateful & hope this post inspires better recognition and safer conditions for these heroes. Stay safe, everyone ♥️🚒🫠
