Heres what involved in a lighting rewire! They definitely need to do the power circuits aswell but the lights (lights werent working) and a switchboard upgrade is a good start.

ON/OFF/SENSOR switch install we did. This installation gives us the ability to bypass the sensor if we want to turn the lights on to entertain so we dont have to wave our arms every 10 minutes or if youre putting the bins out etc.

In this instance the clients wanted this install for outside entertaining purposes but also for security at night.

I dont know how long it took but was trying for what felt like forever trying to fish that string out. Could have just slapped some conduit in and said see you later but where would the challenge in that be - plus you gotta have some pride in your work!

If youre switchboard has fuses, this is one of many things old fuses can do to your cable.

The ‘green goo’ (dont know the actual term lol) is caused from the cable overheating. I think what has happened here is the board got upgraded but it was a little too late for the lighting circuit on this occasion.

Fixing up these burnt consumer mains. Not sure if i explained that correctly but we installed 16mm all the way through from the point of attachment to the switchboard, deleting the 6mm.
