It’s been a huge project and we’re getting closer to the finish line — but there’s still more to come! 👀

Perth Bowling Club patrons will be staying comfortable year-round after upgrading from evaporative cooling to refrigerated reverse-cycle air conditioning.

A combination of Mitsubishi Electric Australia Electric ducted systems and ceiling cassettes has been installed throughout the Club’s 400sqm premises, delivering efficient heating in winter and cooling in summer.

This has been a significant project for the Needhamair team, working around challenging weather conditions and a busy installation schedule. The upgrade includes eight new air conditioning systems, along with a crane lift to remove the existing evaporative units from the roof.

With completion expected ahead of schedule, members and guests can look forward to a comfortable environment this winter—and when the competition heats up over summer, everyone will be able to keep their cool … well, inside the Club Rooms at least!

Commercial showroom upgrade completed by the Needhamair in-house team

With a quick turn around and only a 5 day window on site, our install team removed & decommissioned 8 x commercial evaporative coolers and replaced them with 6 x 25kW reverse cycle ducted air conditioning units to 36 outlets and 12 return air grilles.

With a building height of 7m, all outdoor units were carefully craned onto the roof and existing units craned off then being removed from site. Internally the installation of indoor fan coils, sheet metal, flexible ductwork, drains and refrigerant pipework were performed using 4 x scissor lifts allowing the team of 8 installers to work at the heights required efficiently and safely.

A huge effort by the team to coordinate the logistics, crane lifts, scissor lifts, custom ductwork, electrical and commissioning — delivering a modern, energy-efficient climate control solution ready for all seasons in a tight 3-week window from enquiry to completion.
