✨ Vinyl Floor Repair Done the Totally Proper Way! ✨

From damaged and melted to seamless and like-new – this vinyl floor got the fix it deserved.

The client had a wall and window removed to make space for a new sliding door. During the renovation, the vinyl flooring was left too short and had a few scratches and heat marks from structural hot works.

✔ Damaged Vinyl Carefully Removed - removed delicately as to not damage the other planks
✔ Subfloor Cleaned – all glue scraped out and prepped for a perfect bond
✔ New Planks Re-Cut & Glued In – matched to the existing pattern for a flawless repair
✔ Siliconed to Finish – clean, watertight, and built to last
✔ Spare Planks Matched – luckily, the customer still had the original batch on hand!

The end result? A repair so tidy you’d never know it was damaged. 👌

The client is a tradie so he built the main sub-frame himself, and I took care of the precision work to bring it all together with a clean, professional finish.

Here’s what went into the transformation:

From damaged to flawless – this ceiling got the upgrade it deserved.

The original ceiling had suffered water damage, so it was carefully removed to keep the exisiting cornice and rose.

✔ 18mm Metal Ceiling Battens – fixed to existing Jarrah ceiling joists
✔ Black U-Channel Perimeter – creating a clean shadow gap around the edges and centre rose for a modern touch
✔ Black U-Channel perimeter not only adds a sleek shadow gap but also future-proofs the design for integrated LED lighting
✔ Existing Cornice & Ceiling Rose Saved – the damaged ceiling was carefully removed to keep the exisiting cornice and rose.
✔ New Plasterboard Installed – finished with Rondo edge beads for crisp, strong edges
✔ Fully Taped, Filled & Sanded – leaving a smooth, ready-to-paint finish

The result? A ceiling that blends classic charm with a contemporary edge. The client couldn’t be happier!

Do you want something bespoke made at your house? Take a look at these solid oak floating shelves done the Totally Proper way!

The customer and I discussed the vision and collaborated ideas to bring this to life. They wanted a practical space, whilst also creating a conversation starter in the room. It called for careful planning and precise ex*****on — crafting bespoke floating shelves, each a generous 3m wide, all made from stunning solid European oak benchtops.

Two of the shelves were designed as angled display pieces, adding a unique architectural feature to the room and a place for the client to display their most important items. Along the bottom, I allowed space for the skirting to run through seamlessly, so everything tied together to give a sleek and professional finish.

Every shelf was custom-cut, carefully installed, and finished to highlight the beautiful oak — resulting in clean lines, a flawless fit, and a feature that looks effortlessly integrated.

These recent jobs covered everything from fitting solid oak doors to scribing blank doors into tricky angles in a loft conversion — each one needing a tailored approach for a perfect fit.

Whether it’s heavy hardwood or lightweight modern doors, working to the quirks of old frames or cutting clean lines into tight loft spaces, every install is done with care and precision. Hinges are set by hand, consistent margins set, and doors swing smooth and sit solid.
