About Greening Small Spaces
I undertake most projects myself but also utilise the skills and knowledge of registered tradespeople and experienced horticulturalists when required. I work mainly within “small spaces” such as townhouses, inner-city and small suburban blocks, courtyards, balconies, and commercial spaces like restaurants and cafés. I believe that small spaces do not mean “small ideas
or vision”. Careful design and planting can bring unused or unusable spaces back to life. Gardens are dynamic not static, so in some ways they are 'never done’. Therefore, ongoing maintenance must be considered as part of the design and planning of the garden space before the construction and planting phases have started. I can provide scheduled maintenance at a fixed price as part of your garden project. I believe that we should accept and work within the constraints of our environment and landscape. Water and space are valuable (we live on the edge of a desert). I endeavor to incorporate water-wise design and planting principles into all my work. I also avoid the use of poisons and unnecessary chemicals at all times. This desire flows through to my love of organic gardening especially for growing our own food.
