The wait is over! The upgraded playground at Virginia Ryan Park is now open and ready for the community to enjoy.

Inspired by the colours and floral design elements featured on the park’s entry signage, the custom-designed playground includes:

🛝 Double slide
🐒 Monkey bars
🌿 Balance trail
🎨 Sensory play features
🪵 Natural play elements including limestone and timber

Designed with accessibility in mind, the new combination unit features ramped access directly from the footpath, helping create a more inclusive play experience for children and visitors with mobility limitations.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the community engagement day, shared feedback online and followed the project journey. Your input helped shape a playground that reflects the ideas and aspirations of the local community.

The project also delivered significant landscape improvements, including:

🌳 27 native trees planted
🌱 3,333 native tubestock shrubs planted
💧 Hydrozoning of turf areas to support more sustainable water use

These enhancements will increase shade, support local biodiversity and help create a greener, more sustainable park for generations to come.

We were proud to deliver the complete design and construction of this vibrant playground at Mel Maria Catholic Primary School in Attadale.

Featuring colourful cluster climbers, a concrete slide, an arbour dome, stepping stumps, a wobbly bridge and so much more, every element has been thoughtfully designed to encourage active play, build confidence and create endless opportunities for movement.
⁣
Designed and constructed by our team at LyPa , these bespoke products and exciting play space has been brought to life by Nature Play Solutions and will be enjoyed by students for years to come.

Watching a Park Come to Life 🌿💚

There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a community space come to life through the eyes of children.

From watching the park being built to helping plant trees and native gardens, these children became part of the journey. Their curiosity, confidence and connection to nature grew alongside the park itself.

We're proud to have played a part in creating a space they'll enjoy and care for years to come.

Every child deserves the opportunity to play, connect and communicate.

That's why we're so excited to see the new communication board installed at the Celebrity Tree Park All Abilities Playground in Kununurra as part of the first accessible playground in the Kimberley region.

Communication boards help make playground conversations more accessible by providing visual language that supports children to express themselves, share ideas, make choices and interact with others during play.

This project was made possible through the vision and collaboration of Nature Play Solutions and the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley, who have created a truly inclusive community space for local families. 💜

We love seeing communication inclusion embedded into community environments from the very beginning, helping more children experience the joy of understanding and being understood.

We are delighted to announce that the Dyoondalup / Point Walter play space has won a PLAWA Playspace Award! 🏆

This project was very special for our team. Working alongside Local Aboriginal Elder Aunty Marie Taylor, Noongar artist Sharyn Egan, and the of Melville over three years of respectful consultation and co-design, we brought the story of Djunda, a Wadjuk Noongar spirit deeply connected to this place to life through design, art, and play.

Every element of this space was considered with care: from the tower structure echoing Djunda’s flowing hair, to Sharyn's stunning fauna artworks transformed into tactile sensory panels, to the natural materials and repurposed rammed earth walls that ground the space in its landscape and history.

We're proud to have created a play space that welcomes the whole community, while honouring the deep cultural significance of Dyoondalup to the Wadjuk Noongar people.

Thank you to the City of Melville, Aunty Marie Taylor, Sharyn Egan, and everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality. Reconciliation through design is a journey, and we are honoured to play a part in this.
