Shopping for a home battery? Ask these 6 questions first. 🔋
Battery complaints have more than doubled this year, mostly over oversized systems, misleading advice and delays. A good installer will happily answer all six:

What size do I actually need, based on my usage?
Which rebates apply, and are they shown on my written quote?
Will it back up my home during a blackout?
Who does the install: your own crew or subcontractors?
What warranties cover the battery, inverter and workmanship?
Do I pay a deposit before there’s a firm install date?

Free power from 11am to 2pm? Here's the catch 👇

The federal Solar Sharer Offer gives eligible NSW homes 3 hours of free grid power every day, from 11am to 2pm. You need a smart meter, and you opt in through your energy retailer.

It's not a free bill, though. The supply charge and the power you use outside that window still apply. Compare it with your current plan and feed-in tariff first.

Already have solar? Your panels cover the middle of the day anyway. The expensive part is the evening, and that's where a battery comes in.

Up to $15,000 at zero interest for solar and a battery. Here's how the NSW Home Energy Saver program works, in plain English, for homeowners across Wollondilly and the Highlands.

The loan (open now): up to $15,000, zero interest, repaid over up to 10 years, for homeowners and landlords with a combined household taxable income up to $210,000.

The discount (coming soon): up to $4,000 off for homeowners and renters with a household income up to $80,000 or an eligible concession card.

Might qualify for both? Apply for the discount first. The NSW Government says if you take the loan first, you can't use the discount on that same purchase.

This Theresa Park property now runs on a ground-mounted 12.74 kW solar system (28 AIKO Neostar 490W panels) feeding a 24.1 kWh Sigenergy battery, three-phase, with a backup gateway for outages and 4G monitoring.
