Adelaide homeowners

Storms are coming and we are already seeing outages across parts of SA with heavy wind and rain. If you have solar and a battery, now is the time to make sure your system is actually ready to carry you through.

Here are a few simple checks you should be doing before the weather hits.

Check your battery reserve setting
Make sure you have enough capacity reserved for essentials like your fridge, lights, internet and garage. If your reserve is set too low, you might not have what you need when the grid drops out.

Know what is on your backup circuit
Not every home is wired the same. Some systems only back up selected circuits. If you are not sure what stays on during an outage, it is worth confirming now rather than finding out the hard way.

Reduce heavy loads
If a storm is forecast, turn off non essential high draw appliances such as pool pumps, EV chargers and large ducted systems. Stretching your stored energy makes a big difference during a long outage.

Check your app
Monitor your state of charge. If bad weather is expected tomorrow, consider charging up tonight so you are going into it with a full battery.

Test your backup
If your system allows it, run a backup test. It gives you confidence that everything switches over correctly when it matters.

Whether you are running Sungrow, Sigenergy, Goodwe or another brand, correct setup and configuration is what separates a system that just saves money from one that truly protects your home.

This system combines:
• 64kWh of Sigenergy batteries with 30kVA three-phase controllers
• 44.88kW of Aiko 510W all-black ABC modules

Designed for long-term performance, it provides the client with over 20 years of reliable energy independence.
