One of the strangest faults Todd has ever encountered.

After a period of heavy rain, Todd was called to investigate an electrical fault at a local home.

While working through the fault-finding process, he received a shock from a timber door frame.

A timber door frame.

As strange as it sounds, testing revealed 224 volts present on the timber door frame surrounding a light switch.

The cause was eventually traced to extensive termite damage hidden within the wall cavity. A roof leak had allowed moisture to enter the termite-damaged timber, and when combined with damaged wiring, it created an unintended leakage path that allowed electricity to travel where it never should have.

The result was one of the most unusual faults Todd has seen in decades of electrical work.

With the cold, wet weather setting in, rodents have been finding their way into roof spaces, wall cavities and under homes looking for warmth and shelter.

Recently, we've been called out to several homes across the area to investigate unexplained electrical faults. After a thorough fault-finding process and plenty of detective work, we unfortunately discovered wiring was on the menu for rodents.

Rodent damage might seem minor, but damaged wiring can cause anything from intermittent power outages and nuisance tripping to equipment damage and, in some cases, serious fire hazards.

Many of these faults remain hidden until lights start flickering, power begins tripping, or something simply stops working.

If your power has been doing strange things lately, the cause isn’t always where you’d expect to find it.

From out of town? Why not stay for the long weekend in our beautiful historic town? Stroud is fortunate enough to have a number of incredible accommodation options. There are many AirBnBs and local camp grounds to choose from. We recommend booking a camp or caravan site at the Stroud Showgrounds or The Bucketts Way Camp & Stay for a very affordable and convenient options with excellent facilities.

TOP BLOKES REEL TALK CHALLENGE UPDATE🎣

101 hours fished.
$525 raised.

What a month it's been!

Throughout May, Todd, Hunter & Scout clocked up an incredible 101 hours on the water while raising $525 for Top Blokes Foundation through the Reel Talk Fishing Challenge.

From early morning starts to late nights, sunshine to rain, they've embraced every opportunity to get out fishing while supporting a cause that makes a real difference to young boys across Australia.

May also included the Allworth & District Social Fishing Club monthly competition, where both Todd and Hunter were lucky enough to come home with prizes. To top it all off, Hunter landed a personal best Mulloway measuring an impressive 95cm 🎣

While the fishing has been fantastic, the challenge is about much more than catching fish. Each week participants focus on topics that support personal growth, resilience and mental wellbeing.

This week's focus is navigating stress and pressure — learning practical ways to manage challenges, stay connected, and support those around us when life gets tough.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our team so far. Whether you've donated, shared our posts, or simply followed along, thank you for helping us support such an important cause.

Another Starlink installation completed for a rural property in Stroud.

Reliable internet is becoming increasingly important for work, security systems, streaming and staying connected. For many rural properties, Starlink is proving to be an effective solution where traditional internet services can be limited.

For this project, the system was designed to provide reliable internet coverage beyond the home itself, extending connectivity to outbuildings on the property.

With the right equipment and setup, rural properties can achieve strong and reliable internet coverage across multiple areas of the property.

A great result for this client and another beautiful location to work in.

A few finishing touches from this beautiful project we recently completed alongside Carve Carpentry.

One thing Todd prides himself on is looking beyond the electrical plan and thinking about how a space will actually be used day to day.

During the project planning stage Todd could see the desk area was going to need more functional lighting, so we worked with the client and builder to incorporate integrated LED strip lighting into the cabinetry design.

The end result is a workspace that not only looks clean and seamless, but is also practical, comfortable and functional to use.

Attention to detail and forward thinking like this is something Todd brings to every project, whether it’s a new build, renovation or simple upgrade.
