Strong welds build strong projects. Here are a few quick welding tips that we've utilsed here on our Sylvania project:

• Clean your metal before you strike an arc. Dust, rust, and paint weaken welds

• Keep a steady travel speed to avoid undercutting or voids

• Maintain the right electrode angle for cleaner, more controlled beads

• Invest in a good welding helmet, we utilise an auto detect for hands free and solid protection

If your roof is leaking, the issue is not always the material. Like this one it’s incorrect installation & maintenance.

Two of the most common causes:

1.  Incorrect fall (slope)

A roof should always have enough fall to allow water to drain efficiently. If it’s too flat or has low spots, water will pool instead of running off. Over time, standing water finds its way into joints, fasteners, and weak points  leading to leaks.

2. Incorrect flashing

Flashing is what keeps water out at joins, edges, and transitions. If it’s poorly installed, missing, or not sealed correctly, water will track underneath rather than over the surface. This is especially common where the roof meets walls and adjoining structures.

The result?
Water ingress, internal damage, mould, and costly repairs.

The fix:
- Ensure proper fall for the roof profile
- Install compliant, continuous flashing system
- Use correct sealing methods at all junctions

A watertight roof isn’t just about materials, it’s about getting the details right.

Something about this place doesn’t sit right.

We found these strange stone engravings hidden behind the bathroom wall. Markings that don’t look decorative at all. No one here knows who or what made them, or why.

Day & night, things feel even weirder. Sounds with no source. That feeling like you’re being watched. Is this just an old house with a story or something more?
