To stimulate the economy the government is offering $25,000 grants for owner occupiers to build a new home or start a major renovation. Projects must be valued between $150,000 to $750,000 and contracts signed before 31 December 2020 (with works to begin within 3 months).

The Federal Government has listened to Master Builders call for HomeBuilder to include grants for both new home builds and renovations.

From today, owner occupiers can access $25,000 grants to build a new home or start a major renovation. The plan is restricted to new homes and major renovations valued between $150,000 to $750,000.

The pre-renovation value of the house must not exceed $1.5 million and excludes sheds, pools, granny flats and any other structures not attached to the property.
