How and when does the money get paid in a fixed price building contract.
The project is broken down to different stages of construction and a progress payment is made for each of those stages based on the value of the work completed.

Before construction starts, the first payment is a deposit, 10% in NSW.

There are specific payment terms to follow which is important for adhere to, to keep the progress of the job moving forward towards completion.

Once the final payment has been recieved, then the builder will hand over the keys and all the complience certificates required to recieve the occupation certificate.

This is how the money works in a fixed price building contract and is an indication of the quality level of the builders business management.
