Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 25th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, because the McCulloch County Library, teaming up with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, is throwing a virtual fiesta for plant lovers! Welcome to the Plant Party webinar series, featuring "Native Plants and Insects."

Brace yourselves for five bite-sized presentations:
▪ Mealybugs Invasions (it's a tiny bug takeover!)
▪ Nocturnal Pollinators (the night owls of the plant world)
▪ Tree Beetles (bark's worst nightmare)
▪ Desert Termites (the sand dwellers with a munchy habit)
▪ Oleander Aphids and Monarchs (a colorful showdown)

This Plant Party is a brainchild born from a fabulous collaboration between the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. These quarterly shindigs are all about leveling up your plant know-how and spreading enthusiasm for our state's fabulous flora. Let's get our green thumbs ready for some serious fun!

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller urges all Texans to exercise extreme caution if they receive unsolicited packages containing unknown seeds or liquids.

“Folks, please take this matter seriously,” Commissioner Miller stressed. “Receiving any unsolicited liquid or chemical at your doorstep poses a significant risk to the health of you and your family. We also cannot allow unidentified seeds to enter Texas. If planted, invasive plant species will substantially harm the Texas agriculture industry."

If a package of seeds is delivered, do not open it, and call 1(800) TELL-TDA right away.
