How to kill caterpillars

Good day everyone. Scott here from 1 Green Thumb Gardening in Toowoomba.

Today I just want to show you one w**d that you mostly have to control manually. Sprays do work if you hit it when it’s small like this — but if it ends up like this, you have to pull it out by hand. You cannot spray it and let these w**d seeds go back into your lawn.

I just use a box cutter. What you want to do is fold it up, find where its main root is, slice underneath, and make sure you get under that crown into the root. It’s actually quite simple, quick, and easy.

It doesn’t matter how low you mow — these suckers will keep growing as low as you mow. And of course, if you spray, all those w**d seeds just end up back in your lawn.

Chemicals that can be used on Burr Medic or Button Burr are Dicamba (DiCamba, Buffalo Master (Bromoxynil and MCPA.) But personally, I find this method a lot easier and quicker.
