It's always rewarding to work with clients who continue to place their trust in your team, year after year.

Our relationship with Sitzler began in 2011 on the Darwin Correctional Facility project. Since then, we've had the opportunity to work together across a wide range of commercial, government and critical infrastructure projects throughout the Northern Territory. More than 15 years on, we're proud to continue building on that relationship.

We're pleased to have been engaged to deliver the fire protection systems for Sitzler's new Darwin Headquarters, with the project underway and anticipated completion in 2027.

Endfire Engineering's scope includes the design, installation, testing and commissioning of the project's fire protection systems, incorporating underground fire services, a fire water storage tank and pump enclosure, external hydrants, a new fire booster, fire detection and alarm systems, an Occupant Warning System (OWS), and portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

From the underground infrastructure through to the building's life safety systems, every element has an important role to play. Our team will work closely with Sitzler throughout construction to deliver a coordinated fire protection solution that supports the safety of the building and everyone who uses it.

Endfire Engineering has recently been engaged by Flow On Plumbing to deliver the complete sprinkler system installation for the Clapham Maintenance Facility, continuing to support another key component of the Cross River Rail upgrades across South East Queensland. 🚆🔥

The sprinkler installation is one of those scopes where the details are easy to underestimate from the outside. Pipework routes, interface points, access, sequencing and compliance expectations all need to come together and on time all while working in a live rail environment .

Clapham Yard will boost the reliability and capacity of the SEQ rail network, supporting Queensland Rail’s growing fleet with stabling, cleaning, light maintenance and graffiti removal. Located on Fairfield Road beside Moorooka station, the site will accommodate up to 27 six‑car trains and includes a new maintenance facility, crew amenities and operational spaces, secure vehicle access and gatehouse, a dual‑gauge rail bridge and raised viaduct over Moolabin Creek, a road overpass connecting Chale Street, plus a dedicated pedestrian link to Moorooka station.

NAVFAC Pacific Projects | RAAF Base Darwin

Endfire Engineering is proud to be supporting the delivery of specialist fire protection works across key NAVFAC Pacific projects at RAAF Base Darwin, in partnership with CC Pines.

These projects form part of a significant defence infrastructure program in the Northern Territory, supporting aviation, logistics, squadron operations and critical base capability.

The NAVFAC Pacific project packages include:

Construction of the Fire Protection and Detection for the New Fire Pump Room, Switch Rooms, Aircraft Wash Facility and associated

P-941
Construction of the Fire Protection and Detection Systems for the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron and Marine Wing Support Squadron facilities.

P-949
Construction of the Fire Protection and Detection Systems for the Type II aircraft maintenance hangar and telecommunications distribution facilities.

Endfire’s current fire protection scope spans several technically distinct facilities, including the Maintenance Support Facility, Armoury Building, Aircraft Maintenance Hangar and Area Distribution Node Building.

Across these buildings, works include fire detection and alarm systems, FDCIE and associated system panels, addressable smoke, heat, CO, NO2, IR and air aspirating detection, alarms, cabling and cable management, sprinkler systems, fire hose reels, smoke exhaust systems and inert gas suppression.

Defence infrastructure projects demand a high level of coordination. Each facility has different operational requirements, risk profiles and system interfaces, meaning fire protection delivery needs to be planned with precision from the outset.

For Endfire Engineering, this project reflects the kind of work we are built for: technically detailed fire protection across complex, high-accountability environments where compliance, reliability and delivery discipline matter.

A Career Built on Experience
Eighteen years at Endfire Engineering and somehow Mat Farmer agreed to sit still long enough for a photo.

Mat joined Endfire in 2008 as a Fire Technician on the Townsville Men’s and Women’s Prisons project. Since then, he has built his career from the ground up, gaining extensive experience across a wide range of projects, technical operations, leadership and strategic growth before stepping into the role of Director.

Today, what makes Mat’s leadership unique is that he understands the industry from every angle. He has spent time on the tools, managed projects, led teams and worked closely alongside clients, builders and contractors across some of Australia’s most complex construction and infrastructure projects within the fire protection industry.

Mat’s journey reflects the value of hard work, continuous learning and staying grounded. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to professional development, undertaking ongoing training and education while continually expanding his technical expertise and understanding of industry best practice.

Even as Endfire has grown, Mat has stayed closely connected to the team. He makes time to visit site, check in with crews and understand the real challenges our project teams are working through.

His focus has always been on building a strong team, supporting good people and creating lasting relationships with clients and industry partners. Together, that combination of experience, industry knowledge and trusted partnerships has helped shape Endfire into the business it is today.

Healthcare Infrastructure has formed a significant part of Endfire Engineering’s project portfolio for many years.

Across Australia and New Zealand, Endfire has delivered nearly 50 healthcare projects, including fire protection and detection systems for major hospital expansions, acute services buildings, mental health facilities, specialist clinical environments, aged care developments, community health centres and aeromedical infrastructure.

Our experience includes landmark projects such as the Christchurch Hospital Acute Services Building, QEII Hospital Expansion Project, Cairns Hospital Expansion Project, Townsville University Hospital, Darwin Mental Health Facility and Brisbane Aeromedical Base, alongside an extensive portfolio of regional and remote healthcare works in locations including Thursday Island, Weipa, Yarrabah, Cooktown, Normanton, Richmond and Tully.

🏫Project Award | Mount Isa Civic Centre Essential Services Compliance Upgrade

EndFire Engineering Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the award of the Mount Isa Civic Centre Essential Services Fire Service Upgrade (Supply and Construction) Project on behalf of Mount Isa City Council.

Located in Queensland’s Northwest, Mount Isa sits approximately 1,800 kilometres north of Brisbane and 900 kilometres inland from Townsville, the closest major city. As the administrative, commercial and industrial centre of the region, Mount Isa plays a critical role in supporting surrounding communities, including Camooweal and areas extending toward the Northern Territory border.

The Mount Isa Civic Centre is one of the region’s most important public assets. It serves as the premier performing arts and indoor events venue, with capacity for more than 1,000 people, and is also identified as one of the local disaster evacuation centres.

Our scope of works includes:
▪️Modifications to the existing Fire Indicator Panel (FIP)
▪️Upgrades and expansion of fire detection, control and indicating equipment
▪️New power supplies for critical life safety systems
▪️Installation of a new Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS) with public address functionality
▪️Emergency warning speakers, horns and visual warning devices throughout the facility
▪️Integration with security systems for automatic door release
▪️Interfaces with public address and stage sound systems for emergency override capability
▪️Gas system shutdown interfaces
▪️Smoke exhaust and air-conditioning shutdown controls
▪️Associated cabling, infrastructure, commissioning and compliance works

As one of the region's key public facilities, the Mount Isa Civic Centre serves a diverse purpose for the local community, from performances and events through to emergency response and disaster support when required.

Last week we attended the FPA Australia conference, trade show and awards evening in Melbourne. 🔥

The week was filled with insightful conversations, valuable industry learnings, networking opportunities and meaningful catch-ups with clients, contractors, suppliers and peers from across the country. It was also fantastic to see the new technologies, innovations and developments continuing to shape the future of the fire protection industry.

The conference and tradeshow provided a great opportunity to hear about the challenges, advancements and emerging trends across the sector, while also showcasing the level of collaboration and innovation continuing to drive the industry forward.

At the awards night, Endfire Engineering Pty Ltd was proud to be finalists for both Fire Protection Company of the Year and Project of the Year. While we didn’t take home a win this year, the team left incredibly proud of what has been achieved and grateful to be recognised alongside so many respected organisations in the industry.

🏆 EndFire Engineering Pty Ltd is proud to be nominated as a finalist in two categories at the prestigious 2026 FPA Australia Industry Awards, Fire Protection Project of the Year and the Harry Marryatt Fire Protection Company of the Year.

This recognition is not the result of a single project. It reflects a consistent standard of delivery applied across our portfolio, and a disciplined approach our team brings to every project, particularly in high-consequence environments where system performance is critical, and there is no margin for error.

Much of what we design and deliver is intentionally unobtrusive. Fire pump rooms, suppression systems, detection networks and supporting infrastructure are seamlessly integrated into complex facilities to operate without failure when required. These systems are not built for visibility. They are built for certainty, resilience and long-term performance.

Projects such as AIR7000 at RAAF Base Tindal, which has been nominated for the Fire Protection Project of the Year, demonstrate this capability in practice. The project delivery involved large-scale aviation infrastructure, highly complex fire protection systems and stringent Defence requirements within operating environments where precision is essential and concessions are not an option. Success depends on rigorous engineering, coordinated ex*****on across stakeholders and an uncompromising attention to detail from design through construction and commissioning.

After more than 26 years in the industry, our presence across the Australian and international fire protection landscape continues to grow, and it is encouraging to see that reflected through this recognition.
