Nap trapped while working on part 2 of the Man cave project from last week.

Usually I would bounce between doorways to keep the install process flowing, but on this occasion I made some adjustments to keep the nap times on track.

Adapting and adjusting plans on the fly is all part of the service 😉

This one is for the Dad's and their man caves.

Friday night footy will never sound the same... from outside. Crank the commentary up and yell as loud as you want**

-Verticle V-groove design

Why have a stationary wall, when you can have a room extending panel...

The typical, some may even say the safe option would have been to install timber framed wall. The sliding wall panel adds an element of customisation to the whole space depending on the need or time of day.

On Saturdays, we draw on walls 😉

What's the difference from installing a door set on a wall with Timber or Steel frames?

Nothing exciting, just a change in screws and using a magnet to find the studs rather than the stud finder. Insert Dad joke here>>>

Worth the drive.
Came for the door, stayed for the laughs 😉

After heading up to Tea Gardens for a confirmation measure and planning session of how to maximise the effect of having the multi purpose Office door, slide over to become the sound deadening, hallway door.

Taping out the design on the floor with painter's tape to give a life size replica of the design and adjusting the glass squares until they were perfect, matching the vision for the space ("not too wide but not too narrow").

The end result was spot on, fitting both functions depending on the needs without looking like an after thought.

ANZAC day a little different this year.

LEST WE FORGET.

Lunch with a view.
The sound of rutting Fallow bucks makes April a fun time to be out in the bush. Being able to sneak into within 30m of a mob of deer with so many eyes watching and alert can be a challenge, but sitting, watching and learning some of their typical behaviours is really rewarding.

I sat off this gully with the wind in my face for about an hour, seeing how the young buck would round the does up like a sheep dog, keeping them feeding in his gully only to be annoyed by a "spiker" (roughly a year old, male) getting a bit too close and being chased off.

Anyway, Back to the workshop for me until next year 😉

I'll be right back... after the annual pilgrimage for the Red and Fallow rut.

There's nothing quite like getting up at 430am, walking around the hills all day and repeating for a week straight to get the motivation and inspiration flowing.

A couple of nice bucks getting around makes it even more enjoyable.

The reveal...

A solid door with a difference.
Keeping the build as economical as possible by using a V-grooved infill panel on the internal face.

That did two things: reduced materials costs while keeping that solid timber feel from the bedroom side and added an extra element to the internal face seen from the ensuite.

On this one I added a brush seal on the trailing edge of the door to really limit the light shining through for those "after night shift day sleeps".
