A triple whammy of storms, network impacts, and heatwave conditions have been putting pressure on the electricity grid tonight. While there’s plenty of generation capacity available, intense demand in particular pockets or on several major feeders have triggered a number of outages.

Storms aren’t helping either – we’ve clocked 213,000 lightning strikes so far today. Our crews are hard at work fixing these issues, with 75% of of the customers who lost power earlier this evening back on supply. We’ll keep at it until everyone’s power is safely restored – thanks for your patience on this hot night!
