End of season reset 🌱
This lawn was healthy and growing well all season… but with good growth comes something people forget about, thatch.
Thatch is just a build-up of old runners, stems and organic matter sitting between the grass and the soil. A little is normal. Too much and it starts to:
• Block water from reaching the roots
• Hold excess moisture
• Make the lawn spongy
• Dull the colour
So we gave it a proper end-of-season scalp and dethatch.
📸 Day 1 – looks brutal
📸 Day 7 – starting to wake up
📸 Day 14 – filling back in
📸 Day 21 – green, tight and healthy
This time of year is ideal. We’ve still got warm days and decent rain around, which means the lawn can recover properly before winter slows everything down.
If your buffalo or kikuyu has had a strong growing season, a reset like this can completely change how it performs next year.
Not always about throwing more fertiliser at it, sometimes it just needs to breathe again.
