This is a great example of when a big job is done originally by DIY or owner builder with out the right advise, one mistake means this customer has to replace a 60m/2 roof shortly, we were hired to replace the eaves lining at the back of the house, reason it had to be replaced is when the roofing was installed 10 yrs ago they failed to turn down the end of the sheet so water runs properly into the gutter, failure to do this which is mandatory on a roof under 4 degrees is capillary action has caused the water to track back up the sheeting saturating the insulation blanket & causing the sheeting to rust from out of site under the sheet & damaging the eaves sheeting, it is now coming through the top of the sheet, we have rectified by turning down the end of the sheet & siliconing of the visible areas but unfortunately damage is irreversible rusting through the surface, now this client is up for a whole new roof
