β€’ The Snake Plants produce oxygen even at night, making it the ideal plant to place in your bedroom for better sleep.

β€’ It is Low maintenance and easy to care for and is perfect for beginners.

β€’ Snake plants prefer bright, indirect light and can even tolerate some direct sunlight. They usually grow well, however bit slowly in shady corners and other low-light areas of the home.

It is a recommended plant by NASA. According to their Clean Air study they found out that it removes toxic pollutants like benzene, formaldehyde, and xylene from our indoor environments.
These harmful pollutants can be found in regular household objects like carpeting, furniture polish, and cleaning supplies.

Why saving soil is important and how it affects the water supply?

- Lack of organic content is turning soil into sand.
Depleted soils cannot absorb and regulate water flows.

- Lack of water retention leads to water scarcity, droughts & floods.

- Organic matter can hold up to 90% of its weight in water and release it slowly over time. This is a big help in drought-prone areas.

Solution: Bring back at least 3-6% organic content back in the soil. Enrich the soil through plant littler and animal waste.

Is tea leaves a good fertilizer?

According to several reports, dried tea leaves contain 4.4% nitrogen, 0.24% phosphorus and 0.25% potassium, making it an organic source of NPK fertilizer, known for helping plants grow.

Are tea leaves good for the soil?

How is deteriorating soil affecting climate change ?
And why saving soil campaign is important?

Lack of organic content in soil is turning soil into sand.
This is in turn releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as carbon stored in soil is 3 times more than that in the soil.

If the world's soils are not revitalized, they could release 850 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere contributing to climate change. This is more than all of humanity's emissions in the last 30 years combined.

Solution: Bring back at least 3-6% organic content back in the soil. Enrich the soil through plant litter and animal waste.

Climate change
Carbon stored in soil is 3 times more than in the atmosphere. This means soil is crucial for carbon sequestration.

Do you know the benefits of using Eggshells in Gardening?

-The calcium carbonate in eggshell encourages root growth.

-Eggshells lower soil acidity, balances the pH level making the soil more alkaline than acidic. This helps plants absorb nutrients and ward off toxic elements like aluminum.

πŸ₯šπŸ₯šJust Rinse eggshells. Dry them for two or three days by keeping them in a dry place. You can also expose them to sunlight.

πŸ₯šπŸ₯š3 ways of using Eggshells:

1. The trick is to grind up the eggshells. The smaller the particle size, the better.

2. Another trick is to boil 10 to 20 eggshells and then let the concoction sit overnight. The next day strain the eggshells out of the water, and you have liquid calcium solution. Each eggshell adds four milligrams of calcium. Two cups of the solution per plant should be adequate. Apply about every two weeks. (Gillman, 2008)

3. Simply crush the dried eggshells and leave them onto the soil above the plant. this will help control pests. The sharp edges of dry, crushed shells will keep snails and slugs and other insects away.

Note: Eggshells ground to a fine powder yield the quickest results, while large chunks of eggshells will take at least a year to break down making their stored calcium available to plants perhaps the next growing season.
