Slab Rebar Checklist
1. Drawings & Specs
Structural drawing approved and latest revision
Bar size, spacing, and type as per drawing
Slab thickness confirmed
2. Rebar Material
Correct bar diameter (e.g., 8mm, 10mm, 12mm)
Bars free from rust, oil, mud, paint
Proper bending shape and length
3. Placement
Main bars placed in correct direction
Distribution bars placed perpendicular
Spacing maintained as per drawing
Extra bars provided at:
Supports
Openings (ducts, pipes)
Cantilever areas
4. Cover & Support
Clear cover maintained (usually 15–25 mm for slab)
Cover blocks of correct thickness used
Cover blocks properly spaced
Chairs / spacers provided for double-layer reinforcement
5. Lapping & Anchorage
Lap length as per code/drawing
Laps staggered (not all in one line)
Laps not placed in maximum moment zone
Proper anchorage at beams and edges
6. Tying & Stability
Bars tied properly with binding wire
No loose or displaced bars
Reinforcement stable for concreting work
7. Openings & Embedded Items
Electrical conduits fixed and tied
Sleeves and openings reinforced
No cutting of main bars without approval
8. Final Checks Before Concreting
Rebar cleaned
Level and alignment checked
Engineer/consultant inspection completed
Approval given for concrete pour
