Shakawe and Gumare — THANK YOU! 🙏🏽✨

You were exceptional hosts this past week as we INTRODUCED AMPLIFYING DELTA VOICES: ART FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY to your communities.

This marks the beginning of a deeply important journey — one that seeks to bring community voices to the forefront through the powerful vehicle of artistic expression, to influence change and demand recognition.

We are honoured to have been welcomed so warmly, and we look forward to walking this path together.

This project is funded by THE COMMONWEALTH FOUNDATION.

📸 Stay tuned for more updates as the journey unfolds.

🎭 MAUN, BA TEE HOO?! 🎭

We are thrilled to announce Living Heritage: Resonances Across Generations --- a 15-month project celebrating Botswana’s intangible cultural heritage through contemporary artistic co-creation.

Working with nine artists from across Southern Africa, we will co-create:

🎵 A fusion music album featuring traditional instruments
📖 An anthology of reimagined folktales and praise poetry
🎬 A short fiction film about pottery and heritage
🏺 A public pottery exhibition

These works will be premiered at our ‘Back to Our Roots Festival’ in Maun and shared online.

This project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.

Stay tuned for updates on artist announcements, workshops, and festival dates!
