🌳⚠️🪓 First Job of 2026 – Hazardous Sugar Maple Removal 🪓⚠️🌳

For Big Green Tree Care’s first job of 2026, we were brought in to remove a large Sugar Maple that had been steadily declining over the past several years. The primary issue was a severe girdling root, wrapping around roughly 75% of the trunk, which restricted nutrient flow and caused significant tip dieback throughout the canopy—especially on the most affected sides of the tree.

The homeowner shared that the tree had already lost multiple large sections over the years, but the final warning sign came when a major limb failed and narrowly missed her vehicle by only a few inches. At that point, the risk was clear and the tree had to come down.

We climbed the tree and systematically dismantled it piece by piece, controlling every cut. Once we reached the trunk, we relied on our powerful mini skid steer to safely handle and move trunk sections weighing over 1,000 lbs each, allowing us to complete the job efficiently while keeping the property protected and clean.

🌲🪓💪 Final 2025 Silver Maple Removals – December 2025 💪🪓🌲

For Big Green Tree Care’s last job of 2025, we were called in to remove three massive Silver Maple trees for a client who had been left frustrated by another company’s poor communication and run-around timing. With our new Merlo Grapple Saw unit, we safely and efficiently dismantled all three trees in just 1.5 days.

These weren’t small trees: the trunks ranged from 36–48 inches at the base, and each section weighed 4,000–5,500 lbs. The tallest tree soared 90 feet high, hanging directly over the client’s shed and house. Using expert operating and the Merlo’s incredible lifting power, we removed the trees piece by piece, leaving the property safe and the client with all the wood as requested.

🌳⚡🪚 Silver Maple Removals Near Power Lines – December 1, 2025 🪚⚡🌳

For our very first job of December 2025, on December 1st, Big Green Tree Care was tasked with removing three large Silver Maple trees (Acer saccharinum) bordering a client’s property and leaning directly over secondary power and communication lines.

These trees had been heavily pruned back by hydro crews over the years, had plenty of cavities and had reached full maturity. After sustaining significant ice storm damage earlier in the year, the trees began to decline, and the client made the smart decision to have them removed before any major failure occurred.

Using our brand new Merlo Grapple Saw unit, we were able to safely dismantle, control, and remove the trees with precision — all in under three hours. Each tree stood approximately 75 feet tall, with base diameters ranging from 26–32 inches, which proved to be no challenge at all for our new setup. This machine allows us to deliver strong, static, and exceptionally safe removals, especially in high-risk environments near utilities.

🌳⚠️ Late November Manitoba Maple Removal – Ice Storm Damage ⚠️🌳

As we neared the end of November 2025, we had another big removal on our plate — this time a large Manitoba Maple (Acer negundo) that had suffered a major structural failure from the ice storm earlier in the year. With compromised limbs and increased risk, removal was the safest option.

The client’s top priority was protecting the lawn, so we once again rolled out our plywood ground protection to pad every access and exit point. With careful planning and controlled removal techniques, we safely removed the tree, ground the stump, and completed a thorough cleanup. When we were finished, there was no trace we had ever been there — just a safer, cleaner yard.
