It goes on! And on! And on! Check out the before and after of this 80-foot fence line we finished up in this month!
The original fence was 35+ years old! Built at the same time as the homes on the street.
All the 4" x 4" posts had rotted at the base, the panels were falling over, and it was starting to be a serious hazard to both families who just wanted their privacy and security back!
After a quick conversation, both homeowners decided the entire fence line was to be removed and rebuilt with a new, stronger fence. we got straight to work, making that magic happen!
We started with a demolition! Hauling away all the old 4" x 4" posts, the rotted panels, and all the cracked concrete piles.
Then we moved on to digging holes 48 inches or deeper and setting each new 6" x 6" pressure treated posts in a full 48", 12" diameter concrete pile.
Taking attention to dome the top of each concrete pile to help with water run long into the future.
After waiting a day for all our hard work to harden and cure, we came back out to finish the project by building these beautiful, uniform 6 ft full-privacy fence panels.
Using 2, 2" x 6" support rails, a 2" x 6" finishing rail cap, and 1" x 6" x 6Ft fence boards to create a board over board panel style. Everything is neatly framed together using exterior grade (brown) 3 1/2 screws ( hidden behind the boards) to achieve a faster free face on both sides. The fence boards were nailed on in a straight line using galvanized, rink shank nails to ensure minimal board warping and a hold long into the future!
